This study aims to describe the forms of the shift in the use of Javanese Krama among the younger generation in Toili District, the factors contributing to the shift, the preservation efforts undertaken, and the contribution of the findings to Indonesian language learning at the junior high school level. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method involving 22 informants from the younger generation of Javanese ethnicity. Data were collected through observation, interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that a shift in the use of Javanese Krama has occurred, characterized by changes in language choice in daily communication, shifts in speech levels, a decline in the frequency of Javanese Krama use, and a decrease in the mastery of Krama vocabulary among the younger generation. The shift is influenced by the social environment, the dominance of Indonesian as the primary language, educational factors, and the limited use of Javanese Krama within families. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for preserving Javanese Krama and as supplementary material for Indonesian language learning in junior high schools, particularly in topics related to linguistic diversity and cultural preservation.
